For 10 years, Make Music Salem has transformed our city into a stage, filling streets, parks, and businesses with live music—all completely free for the community. Every June 21, on the first day of summer, people of all ages and backgrounds come together to enjoy the magic of music in every corner of Salem.
We hear it year after year: "Make Music Salem is the best day of the year!" It’s a day where musicians of all styles and skill levels perform, businesses open their doors to live music, and thousands of neighbors, families, and friends fill the streets with energy, joy, and creativity.
This incredible event is 100% volunteer-run and community-funded. What started as a small grassroots effort has grown into Oregon’s largest free music festival, yet it remains powered by a dedicated team of volunteers and the generosity of people like you.
