Make Music Salem is Oregon’s largest free music festival and Salem’s biggest community celebration. Every June 21, on the first day of summer, the city comes alive with music on every corner, people dancing in the streets, and the incredible talent of our community on full display.
We hear it every year: "Make Music Salem is the best day of the year!" It’s a day where musicians of all styles and skill levels come together, businesses open their doors to live performances, and neighbors, families, and friends fill the city with energy, joy, and creativity.
For 10 years, a small but dedicated team of volunteers has worked tirelessly to bring this event to life, growing it into one of the most successful Make Music Day events in the country. What started as a handful of passionate community members is still led by that same core group—organizing, coordinating, and ensuring that this magical day happens every year.
